1. Scope
Player Lock is a sports-video application that helps a parent, guardian, or other authorized user organize athlete information, capture reference photos, record games, and manually identify the athlete being filmed. This policy applies to Player Lock version 1.0 and these public Player Lock privacy pages.
The current version works locally on the device. It does not require a Player Lock account and does not upload athlete profiles or media to a Player Lock cloud service. Player Lock Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store; Player Lock does not receive or store payment details. If a future release adds accounts, cloud storage, automated identity recognition, analytics, or another data practice, Player Lock will update this policy and its App Store privacy disclosures before that practice is enabled.
2. Information you choose to provide
When a user creates an athlete profile, Player Lock stores the athlete’s first and last name, optional nickname, sport, team, jersey number, positions, and optional notes. A user may also enter uniform colors and add a uniform photo. These details are used to organize that user’s game-day setup and to display the manual player anchor in the app.
A user may capture reference photos of an athlete from different angles. Player Lock stores the local file reference for each accepted photo and the selected angle. The current release does not upload those photos, create a facial template, create a biometric identifier, use face recognition, or transmit those images to an AI or computer-vision provider.
3. Camera, microphone, Photos, and video
Player Lock asks for camera access only when the user chooses a camera feature, such as capturing an athlete reference photo, taking a uniform photo, confirming a manual player lock, or recording a game. If the user chooses to record with audio, the app asks for microphone access. Game video and any audio are recorded locally on the device.
A user may choose to save a completed recording to the device’s Photos library. That creates a separate copy managed by the device’s photo library. Player Lock does not automatically upload the recording. Deleting an athlete or erasing Player Lock data does not delete copies saved to Photos; those copies must be deleted directly in Photos.
4. Computer vision, AI, and biometrics
After the user manually taps and anchors the intended athlete, Player Lock uses Apple Vision’s local object-tracking API only to follow that selected on-screen region during an active recording. Camera frames are processed on the device, and the athlete’s jersey number, leader line, and small head-pointing arrow are drawn directly into the local video file. The app hides the marker when tracking confidence falls rather than switching to another player.
Player Lock does not run face recognition, jersey-number recognition, automatic person identification, or a cloud AI service. It does not create, store, upload, or share biometric identifiers, face templates, facial geometry, embeddings, or similar biometric data. The selected tracking rectangle is temporary and is not stored separately from optional marker graphics burned into the local video.
5. Information that leaves the device and third parties
The Player Lock features in this release do not transmit athlete profile information, jersey information, reference photos, uniform photos, video, audio, or manual player-anchor information to Player Lock servers, cloud storage, analytics providers, advertisers, or AI providers.
The app does not use a Player Lock account system, cloud backup, separate payment processor, push-notification service, attribution SDK, advertising SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or usage-analytics SDK. Player Lock Pro subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple’s App Store. Apple, Google, Expo, and other platform providers may separately process ordinary app-store delivery, operating-system, network, or App Store purchase information under their own policies. Player Lock does not intentionally send player and media information to those providers through the current app features.
6. Retention, deletion, and privacy choices
Local athlete details, local media references, game metadata, recording metadata, and app preferences remain on the device until the user deletes the athlete, erases all Player Lock data, uninstalls the app, or the operating system removes temporary files. Player Lock provides controls to delete an athlete or erase all Player Lock app data.
The current release does not have a Player Lock user account, so there is no account record to delete. For a privacy request or help with deletion, visit the Privacy Choices page or contact shawnteters@icloud.com. Because the current release has no Player Lock cloud database for athlete media or profiles, Player Lock generally cannot retrieve or delete data from a remote Player Lock account.
Open Privacy Choices8. Children and youth athletes
Player Lock may be used by parents, guardians, teams, or other authorized adults to record youth sports. Player Lock is not represented as a Kids Category app and does not claim COPPA certification. The person using Player Lock is responsible for having the authority, consent, and permissions required to create an athlete profile, take reference photos, and record people at a game or venue.
Do not use Player Lock to create or share athlete media in violation of a venue’s rules, team policies, school policies, or applicable privacy law. If the data practice changes to involve an online account, cloud media sharing, automated identity recognition, or another collection of a child’s information, Player Lock will require a renewed privacy and consent review before release.
9. Security, California disclosures, and changes
The current local-first design reduces remote exposure because Player Lock does not operate a cloud profile or media service for this release. Device security remains important. Use a device passcode, keep iOS or Android updated, and control who can access the device and Photos library.
Player Lock does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in this release. California residents and other users may use the in-app deletion controls or contact us with questions about this policy. We may update this policy if Player Lock changes its data practices; the updated version will include a new effective date.
